I hawked Gala, Chin-Chin in Mile 2, Maza-Maza and Alakija traffic. -Nigerian Idol winner, K-Peace.

Olakunle Ogunrombi popularly known as K-Peace who emerged the winner of the fifth season of Nigeria’s leading music TV Reality Show, Nigerian Idol recnetly has opened up on his past life.
K-Peace who won cash reward of N7.5 million, an all-expense paid trip to Dubai, a Hyundai Sports Utility Vehicle and a N7.5 million recording deal with South Africa-based Universal Music label not forgetting the high end devices reveled that he embraced hawking of such edible items as Gala, pure water and soft drinks in the traffic after the loss of his father placed a heavy financial burden on the family.
Speaking about his life in the ‘wilderness’, K-Peac, said ”I came from a family of five children and we were well-catered for. My father was an engineer with Leventis Motors at the time, but he lost his job and later tried his hands on trading in motor parts. We eventually lost him to cardiac arrest. That marked the beginning of many difficult years ahead for every one of us, including our mother whose duty it was to provide for us,” recalled K-Peace as he began a sad narrative of his family struggles.

“During this time, I covered from Mile 2 to Maza-Maza and Alakija, selling Chin-chin. I later started selling Gala, Pure water and soft drinks around the “Chopping Centre” neighbourhood of Festac Town,” he said.
K-Peace, who hails from Ogun State, had started out sealing and supplying Chin-Chin to some roadside traders, but opted to go into direct selling when he realised he would make more money doing so.
Prior to this, he had worked as a casual worker in a factory at Maza-Maza where he worked daily from 7 am to 5 pm for a paltry sum of N120.00 with an option of overtime at N30.00. per day. He was on that job for a year before switching to roadside trading (Hawking).
All that had changed prior to his coming to the Show, but his glorious triumph and the attendant rewards, monetary and non-monetary will obviously boost his finances and music career.
During the Show, K-Peace repeatedly shone like the star that he is today. He was a leading light among the final top 12 contestants and he left no one in doubt about his music qualities and, more so, his rating as a top contender for the top prize throughout the seven weeks that the spotlight was cast on them.

Mariah Carey and new billionaire boyfriend already talking marriage?

TMZ is speculating that Mariah Carey and her new boyfriend, James Packer, who is worth $4.6bn are already talking marriage. Read their report below...
Mariah doesn't waste time ... just days after she hopped on a yacht with new billionaire BF James Packer, they're already talking marriage.  Our Mariah sources say it's insane ... they've been "dating" for just a matter of days, but he's already told her he wants to marry her, sooner rather than later. The soonest can be when she's officially divorced from Nick Cannon. But we're told Mariah is open to tying the knot with James.
We got this photo of Mariah and James on the boat, wearing matching robes ... almost like they're on a honeymoon.
They've been cruising from country to country since late last week, and James blared Mariah's music for everyone to hear, including all the people on vastly smaller boats.
We broke the story ... James is obsessed with Mariah and her music. He went to her concert in Vegas a month-and-a-half ago and has been pursuing her ever since.

22yr old Kenya lady elopes with her Mother's husband!

Omg! what story won't we hear these days.. Daughters now snatching mothers' hubbies.. the world is truly heading for a halt!.

A woman in Kibera is searching for her 22-year-old daughter who ran away with her husband in a bizarre case of husband snatching. Caroline Achieng, 36, has been in agony for the past one year during which her efforts to trace her missing daughter whom she conceived as a teenager have been fruitless.

The daughter went missing after a family altercation that ensued from a revelation that she had an affair with her stepfather, got pregnant and procured an abortion, all paid for by her mother after a well-choreographed trickery by the duo.

Achieng’s daughter was last seen at the Kibera District Commissioner’s office when the family had been summoned over rape allegations that she had filed against her stepfather.

“We have had our low moments as a family and at some point it got so bad that I fought with my husband and he moved out of our house carrying his and my daughter’s clothes,” Ms Achieng told Nairobi News.

The family drama started in September 2013 when Ms Achieng’s daughter was unwell and frequently complained of stomach pain.

“I told her to go for a checkup and when she came back from the clinic she told me she had been given ulcers medication,” said Ms Achieng.

The girl’s illness kept recurring and at one time the stepfather proposed that he takes her to a better hospital for checkup and to which Achieng obliged.

“He told me that he had identified a doctor at Kijabe Hospital where the girl would be treated and since I was the sole family breadwinner, running a charcoal business, I financed them and they went to the hospital,” she said.

Achieng also financed the follow-up trips to Kijabe Hospital for the treatment of her daughter as her illness kept getting worse until she closed down her charcoal vending business because of the huge hospital bills.

“It was months later after she (daughter) had filed the rape case that she narrated to the officers at Kilimani police station what had happened. That’s when I learnt that all this time when she was ‘ailing’ she was trying to procure an abortion,” said the mother.

Achieng felt cheated as the girl revealed that her step-father had impregnated her and sourced for a clinic where she was given abortion pills that made her stomach pains worse at first but later flushed out the eight-weeks-old foetus.

“She told the officers that she was sexually assaulted repeatedly by my husband since when she was 8-years-old and was impregnated later but she never wanted me to know since her father threatened her,” narrated the mother.

The mother of seven resolved to divorce her husband but before he moved out of the house, her daughter went missing.

Ms Achieng says she searched for her at her relatives’ houses in vain and it is only after her husband of 15 years moved out that she heard that the two had reconnected and were living in an estate unknown to her.

She has been living in agony over her failed marriage as well as being unable to trace her first born daughter who lives with a man who broke her heart and left her with six other children to fend for.

Achieng has managed to secure a casual job with the National Youth Service but she owes her landlord six months’ rent arrears due to her meager earnings that she splits to cater for children school fees and food.

Graduate found dead after recovering from mental problem.

The corpse of a 28-year-old graduate, identified as Kehinde, who lived with his father on Omosebi Olugbo Street was found in an abandoned well in their house shortly after he had been declared missing.
It was gathered that Kehinde had a strange mental illness for about five years and was always indoors. He was said to have recovered recently from the illness before he was found dead in the well.

Someone close to the family said:
"The deceased was well known in the area.
“Kehinde and his twin brother are well educated and they graduated from the university together. Their mother died a few years back, but their father stays in the house.
“He had been sick for the past five years and because of that, he was always kept indoors.
“His illness was strange because it was off and on. On a particular day, he absent-mindedly walked away from the house before somebody who knew him brought him back home.
“They used to chain his legs and hands to keep him indoors. A few times that he stepped out, he was in chains.”
It was learnt that Kehinde suddenly went missing from the house and the family began looking for him on Wednesday. He was found in the well on Friday.
A resident said,
“We were preparing for sahur to begin our fasting that morning when we saw an ambulance enter their house. We immediately sensed something was amiss.
“It was after the corpse had been taken away that the family told the landlords and some family friends that they found his body in the abandoned well.
“The well was always locked. The residents in the house depend on the community borehole for water. How Kehinde entered the well is a mystery.”
Family and friends trooped into his parents home to show their support for the family.
Kehinde has since been buried.

XENOPHOBIA IS A CHILDS PLAY — NIGERIANS IN GHANA PRISON CRIES OUT FOR HELP

49c430e745dfdbc4b551219217d6de9b
My name is Emmanuel Emeka, a prisoner in Ankaful maximum security prison, Cape Coast, Ghana. I’m serving a jail-term of 130yrs imprisonment and I’m presently in my 8th year.
We appeal to the Nigerian government to please come to our aid. The condition here has been so unbearable for (we) Nigerian prisoners in Ghana. We need to reconnect with our families. The Ghanaian police are fond of arresting innocent Nigerians, giving them high sentence of 50yrs 70yrs 100yrs 150yrs to 200yrs.
Most of us have spent 8yrs 10yrs 15yrs 17yrs 20yrs inside prison and some have died inside the prison without completing their jail-term. Our families are in the dark, they really don’t know what we are facing. We’ve spent a lot of money trying to appeal in court, but all is to no avail. Within my 8years in prison, I have witnessed over 100 deaths of Nigerian citizen in the Ghana prison and most of their families are not even aware. They still keep the hope of their return without knowing they are dead and buried with no rites. We appeal to the government of Nigeria to please act on our behalf so we won’t continue to perish in this peril.
There are many Nigerians in all the 46 prisons in Ghana that need help from the Nigerian government. Also the media, kindly keep spreading the message until it finally grips the attention of the able government. To fellow citizens of Nigeria, our brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers, please continue to pray for us and do what you can to return us back home. Another sad part is that most of us are on sick bed, no drugs for us. This is the unseen hardship Nigerian citizens in all the prisons in Ghana are facing and myself inclusive. I’ve been sick for the past 2 months and they have not taken me to the hospital or give me any drug. They treat us like animals, they give us dry garri everyday, no access to communication. I know how I suffered to get this phone to send

Woman Collects Money, Hands 14-year-old To Rapist In Lagos

                            Faith--360x431
A 25-year-old woman, Nnena Okoro, has been arrested by the police after she reportedly lured a 14-year-old girl, Faith (pseudonym) to a hotel, where a man raped her.
Okoro lives in Sumoratu Estate, off Ojo Road, Lagos State, where the victim resides. She was said to have been Faith’s confidant. Incident happened on the noon of May 16, when the girl’s aunt, with whom she lives, was not around. Okoro had approached Nnenna and requested that she accompanied
her to the Barracks area to buy mangoes. Okoro rejected the mangoes available in the area and went to Wowo, a nearby street, where the hotel was located.
Punch Metro was told that Okoro, who had allegedly collected an undisclosed amount from the fleeing rapist, lured Faith into a room in the hotel and shut the door. Faith said her mouth was covered, as Nnena aided the man to rape her.
She said:
“Aunty Nnena (Okoro) said I should follow her to buy mangoes in Barracks Lane. She did not like the mangoes they had there and she said we should go to Ojo Road. We went to a hotel and met a man, who she called her friend. Aunty Nnena told me to enter a room. Suddenly, both of them dragged me to the bed. Nnena held my hand and covered my mouth with a cloth. The man pulled off my trousers and raped me. He left the hotel immediately he finished doing it and said he had paid Aunty Nnena.
I went outside crying. It was one woman around the area that helped to clean the blood coming out from my private parts when she saw me. She later took me to the Layeni Police Station.”
In her statement to the police, Okoro, who hails from Abia State, confessed to taking the girl to the hotel. She denied coercing the victim into the act and claimed that she had never met the man prior to the incident. She said:
“Faith is my friend. On the fateful day, we both went to buy mangoes on Ojo Road. On getting to a hotel at Tolu, one man called her. They both discussed and the man paid N500 to the hotel attendant and they entered the room. I later left them inside the room to ease myself. It was when I came back that she told me that she was raped. I did not know that she was a virgin. We have never discussed anything like that before. Her pants were stained with blood. I have never seen the man before that day, but I can recognise him if I see him again.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that Okoro had been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court on two counts bordering on the crime, while the police said they had launched a manhunt for the suspect.
The charges read:
“That you, Nnena Okoro, and one other male, now at large, on May 16, 2015, at about 3.20pm, at Graziela Hotel on Wowo Street, Tolu, Ajegunle, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire to commit felony to wit; defilement, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
“That you, Nnena Okoro, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did hold the hands of 14-year-old Faith to the bed and allowed one other man at large to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
The accused pleaded not guilty.
A police prosecutor, ASP Olusoji Ojaokomo, said a medical test conducted on the girl revealed that her hymen had been ruptured.
The defendant’s counsel pleaded with the court to grant bail to his client.

Former Governor Fashola denies fathering twins out of wedlock

There was a report a few days ago that former Lagos governor Raji Fashola had fathered a child with Lagos State staff named Biodun Mrcgregor, who works for the Lagos state government.

Reacting to the story,  Fashola's Spokesperson, Akeem Belo described it as ‘mere speculation’
"If you check the report by The Capital who has been on the case for a while very well, you will see that it was a mere speculation, no proof other than speculation. How do you determine the father of a child on mere speculation? What investigation was done? I won’t comment on mere speculation or dignify a mere speculation, it is not worth it’ he told Newsontheblog
Pressed further to give a categorical ‘yes’ or 'no' answer, Belo said he won’t dignify speculation with an emphatic ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer.
